• Tis the season to treat yo’self!

It’s winter, it’s cold, it sucks. You gain weight/lose memories from all the parties & the dinners that you have to attend. Instead of bombarding you with yet another gift guide, I intend to guide you to being selfish & looking out for numero uno! It’s the season for treating yo’self. First things first, it’s the festive season, you should treat yourself to a nice bottle of something something! Is there a bottle that’s caught your eye this year? Well, this is the perfect time to treat yourself to something nice. My drink of choice is usually gin so there are countless gins that were on my radar but the…

  • The Crafty Pig: BBQ food in the Westend!

I’ve visited The Crafty Pig twice before so I was very very keen to try some of the new menu. BBQ style anything is right up my street, I cover anything & everything in BBQ sauce so I knew this would be a good un! The Crafty Pig sits on Great Western Road near Kelvinbridge subway station so it’s relatively easy to get to. Nibbles to start, I tried the mussel popcorn & Gill went for a big soft pretzel. The Crafty Pig is a nice relaxed bar environment which allows casual dining & of course, lots of drinking! They have Apache on tap too! (Mentioned in my Kelbourne Saint…

  • The Raeburn Winter Garden with Rekorderlig

An outdoor winter garden in Edinburgh isn’t something that instantly grabs your attention as a good idea… However, The Raeburn in Stockbridge have made a pretty fantastic attempt! They are open from Thursday – Sunday until Christmas so hurry down & join in the festivities! In front of the hotel/restaurant lies a beautifully decorated beer garden with embellished wreaths & most importantly, a lovely big Christmas tree! I know you’re probably thinking, outside in Edinburgh in December, are you mad!? I thought so too & wrapped up super warm but there are plenty of heaters placed around the beer garden & a nice cup of heated spiced plum Rekorderlig will…

  • The Kelbourne Saint: Rotisserie chicken with all the trimmings!

The Kelbourne Saint has recently opened in the West End of Glasgow! Previously known as The Old Crosslands (the infamous pub where Begbie threw the pint glass in Trainspotting!). So as soon as I stepped in, I noticed the balcony but there was a completely different atmosphere from the rough neck bar from Trainspotting! You look above & the whole ceiling is beautifully painted like a summer’s day. We were told that an artist took several days & the help of a cherry picker to achieve this! The decor was quite traditional with a modern relaxed feel. Kained Holdings have retained some classic characteristics of the building & have made…

  • Iberica: Authentic Spanish tapas in the heart of Glasgow

You might remember my recent blog post about Iberica but I was lucky enough to be invited back for a special tasting night with head chef Cesar Garcia who talked us through the origins of the menu & his inspirations in cooking! This is Cesar talking us through the deli area and bar area. Iberica have direct contact with their providers and ensure that only the finest meats and ingredients are used. A strong linkage with Spain ensures that they provide an authentic and high quality taste of the Med! Not only does Iberica serve some seriously fantastic food, the drinks are amazing too! They serve a variety of cocktails…
